Avast Business Hub Release Notes 2025

 

Avast Business Hub and AVG Business Cloud Console run the same versions and release in the same cycle, usually every two weeks. Changes to the release cycle can be due to availability, planning, company shutdowns, etc.

For services offered inside the Hub such as Patch Management, Cloud Backup, USB Protection, and PRC, there is no specific release cycle. However, we attempt to release alongside the console releases (if there are some issues, hotfixes will be released outside of the usual two-week cycle). The same applies to the other backend services like DM, Alerts, etc.

This article provides information on the Business Hub 2025 releases and is updated throughout the year.

April 2025

Console Version 8.97 (April 2)

Release Summary

This release includes several bug fixes and small improvements to ensure a more user-friendly experience, and to support overall system stability and performance.

Important Changes

• Note please that in the next release the ‘Passwords’ feature (located in the Device Detail drawer > Services > Antivirus) will be completely removed. This feature has been in the end-of-life mode and end users are advised to use the new Password Manager. Further information can be found in this support article. The new Avast Password Manager is a standalone browser extension and is not part of AV. Therefore, it will not be available in the Avast Business Hub.

New Features & Enhancements

• In the Devices page > Add Device > Advanced Settings option, we have added a language selector for .msi installers (until now it was possible to select a language only for .exe installers).
• In the Devices page > Device Detail drawer > About section, we have added information about the last reboot time.
• In the Devices page > Device Detail drawer > About section, we have added a settings icon in the ‘Group’ and ‘Policy’ fields to allow users to revise or update settings more quickly when needed.
• In the Policies page > Policy Detail drawer > Settings > Web Control, domain names in the Individual Domain Rules section are now ordered alphabetically for easier navigation.
• Various minor improvements.

Console Version 8.96 (January 29)

Release Summary

This release includes several bug fixes and performance enhancements. We’ve addressed various issues reported by users to ensure a more stable experience. Additionally, minor adjustments were made to support overall system stability. Backend optimizations have also been implemented to ensure better scalability moving forward.

Release Summary

This release focuses on small fixes and improvements to enhance the stability and reliability across the software, and to improve the user experience.

Resolved Issues

• Fixed an issue where a policy was changed for all devices in the console instead of selected devices only. This issue occurred when devices were filtered by policy and the user tried to change the policy for all selected filtered devices. Now the policy is changed for filtered devices only.
• Other minor fixes.
