This article provides information on the Avast Business On-Premise Console 2023 releases and is updated throughout the year.

December 2023

Console Version 7.29 HF11 (Mid December)

Release Summary

In this release, we've updated some of the components of the internal engine to bolster performance and deliver security fixes.

Important Notice: Starting in January 2024, a warning dialog will be displayed under each device in the device list on unsupported operating systems to alert users of this status. Supported operating systems can be found in System Requirements.

Also, phone support is now available in English only. For support in your local language please submit a support case.

Resolved Issues

  • In the offline mode configuration, the QR code leading to instructions for the offline mode configuration has been fixed and now leads to the correct link.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Send Message to Device" task in the Management Console was not delivering messages to the targeted endpoint, despite showing as completed.
  • Fixed a problem in the Management Console where the "Program version" for macOS devices displayed an invalid AV version (“0.0 (0)”). The accurate Mac AV version is now displayed in the device details.
  • Addressed a vulnerability where cookies for the console service were missing the secure attribute. The fix ensures that the secure attribute is now appropriately set for cookies on both listening ports 8443 and 8090.

February 2023

Console Version 7.29 HF10 (Early February)

Release Summary

This release improves stability and fixes several issues.

Some customers may experience an increased number of device status alerts caused by improved synchronization mechanisms. In case that a device appears offline, or the application version is incorrect, please check if the service is installed correctly, and if a reinstallation of the Antivirus program is necessary.

Resolved Issues

  • In the report section, device hyperlink leads to the device list instead of message Device cannot be found or has been removed.
  • When multiple devices are selected for creating a task, in case some devices are not properly installed so they cannot process tasks, a warning dialog with list containing those devices is displayed with a recommendation for their reinstallation.
  • Uninstallation of Avast Business On-Premise Console now removes all files including backup folder used by PostgreSQL in ProgramData folder.
  • Upgrade of Avast Business On-Premise Console to new version is now working correctly even if the path to the PostgreSQL is not on the default disk (C:). Prior to this fix, the upgrade has failed.
  • Agents are correctly automatically updated via Master Agent.
  • Devices without internet connection can be updated from Master Agent.
  • It is possible to install an agent on a device behind a proxy server.
  • Default Do not restart immediately settings are applied to devices.
  • macOS Ventura is correctly detected, which prevents these devices from being incorrectly marked as Windows OS.
  • Avast Business Management Console service can be restarted. Previously, after an attempt to manually restart this service, it would not start.
