Ignoring Patches

Once your devices have been scanned, any missing patches displayed on the Business Hub's Patches page can be either ignored or deployed.

You can ignore patches you do not intend to deploy or exclude them via policies. These patches will be shown on the Resolved tab of the Patches page. For more information, see Patch Management Overview.

Ignoring Individual Patches

  1. Navigate to either the Pending OS patches or Pending third-party patches tab of the Patches page
  2. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the patch you want to ignore
  3. Click Ignore
  4. Click Ignore on the pop-up dialog to confirm
    • When the pop-up dialog appears, you can click Select devices to update if you would like to ignore this specific patch only on selected devices. Use the check boxes to mark which devices should ignore the patch, then click Ignore.

Ignoring Multiple Patches

  1. Navigate to either the Pending OS patches or Pending third-party patches tab of the Patches page
  2. Check the boxes of the patches you want to ignore
  3. Click More in the top-right of the table
  4. Click Ignore
  5. Click Ignore on the pop-up dialog to confirm
    • When the pop-up dialog appears, you can click Select devices to update if you would like to ignore this specific patch only on selected devices. Use the check boxes to mark which devices should ignore the patch, then click Ignore.

Ignoring Patches on Specific Devices

  1. Navigate to either the Pending OS patches or Pending third-party patches tab of the Patches page
  2. Click the name of the patch you want to ignore on selected devices
  3. Do one of the following:
  4. To ignore on a single device, click the drop-down arrow beside that device's name
  5. To ignore on multiple devices, check the boxes for the devices, then click More (three dots) at the top-right of the table
  6. Click Ignore

This process can also be completed on a single device in Device Details on the Patches tab.

Reverting From Ignored State

  1. Navigate to the Resolved patches tab of the Patches page
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. To revert a single patch, click Revert
  4. To revert multiple patches, check the boxes of the patches, then click More (three dots) at the top-right of the table and click Revert
  5. Click Revert on the pop-up dialog to confirm
    • When the pop-up dialog appears, you can click Select devices to update if you would like to revert this specific patch only on selected devices. Use the check boxes to mark which devices should stop ignoring the patch, then click Revert.

When patches are reverted from the Ignored state, they can then be installed as normal. For more information, see Deploying Missing Patches.
