Managing Alerts

This Article Applies to:

  • Business Hub

Alerts provide insight on the current state of the devices across your network. They are visible in the Hub from the Partner Dashboard by clicking the plus sign, or by selecting a customer in the left-hand pane and viewing the Dashboard or Devices tab. You can also view all alerts across devices in your network from the Alerts tab. For more information about the different types of threats and alerts, see Threat and Alert Types.

The Alerts tab contains three sub-tabs at the top of the page: Active, Muted, and Resolved.

Suggested Alert Actions

Each type of alert will also display a recommended Action button to resolve the event.

Alerts and threat notifications for the Hub fall under five categories: Antivirus, Patch Management, Cloud Backup, Devices, and Subscriptions. If your device message indicates one of these alerts, please take the recommended action.

Antivirus

  • Threat unresolved: Restart + boot scan, or View threat
  • Virus definitions outdated 14+ days: Update - VPS update
  • Virus definitions outdated 21+ days: Update - VPS update
  • Threat quarantined: View Virus Chest, or Full system scan
  • OS permissions missing: Learn more
  • Antivirus program outdated: Update - program update
  • Threat found and resolved: Quick scan

Patch Management

  • Critical patch missing: View device, deploy patch (if desired)
  • Patch failed to install: Try again
  • Patches missing: View device
  • Patch subscription expired: Choose subscription
  • Patch scan failed: Scan - Patch scan

Cloud Backup

  • No backup space left: Choose subscription
  • Backup is overdue: Backup now
  • Backup failed: Backup now
  • Running out of backup space: Choose subscription
  • Partial backup: Backup now
  • Restore failed: View device
  • Device could not be removed: View device
  • Restore finished: View device

Devices

  • Device requires restart: Restart device, or View device
  • Agent outdated 21+ days: View device
  • Device connection lost 14+ days: Check why the device is not connected to the network and connect it
  • Device connection lost 21+ days: Check why the device is not connected to the network and connect it
  • Obsolete OS: Learn more, or View device

Subscriptions

  • Antivirus subscription expired: Choose subscription
  • Patch management subscription expired: Choose subscription

Removing Specific Alerts

You may wish to hide alerts that are not important in your specific network type. There are two options: dismissing and muting.

Dismissing Alerts

This option will dismiss an alert for a time, which will update your device status as well. You will not be able to view your dismissed alerts; however, the next time a risk check is run on the device, the alert may reappear.

  1. On the Dashboard or Devices page, click the drop-down arrow beside an alert in the devices list
  2. Click Dismiss

Muting Alerts

This option will mute an alert for the selected length of time, which will update your device status as well.

  1. On the Devices page, click the drop-down arrow beside an alert in the devices list
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Mute for 7 days
    • Mute for 30 days
    • Mute for 90 days
  3. To unmute an alert, click the crossed-out bell symbol beside the alert in the devices list, then click either Unmute or Unmute this alert on all devices

Removing Multiple Alerts

You may wish to hide all alerts of a specific type that are not important in your network. There are two options: dismissing and muting.

This option will dismiss an alert for a time, which will update your device status as well. You will not be able to view your dismissed alerts; however, the next time a risk check is run on the device, the alert may reappear.

  1. On the Alerts page, click the drop-down arrow beside an alert in the Events table
  2. Click Dismiss all

Muting Alerts

This option will mute an alert for the selected length of time, which will update your device status as well.

  1. On the Alerts page, click the drop-down arrow beside an alert in the Events table
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Mute for 7 days
    • Mute for 30 days
    • Mute for 90 days
  3. To unmute an alert, click the Muted tab at the top of the page. Then select the event(s) you wish to unmute using the check boxes and click Unmute
