VPN Protection for iOS

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Mobile Protection has been removed from all Small Business Solutions subscriptions (Essential/Premium/Ultimate Business Security) due to low adoption. The mobile devices with the subscriptions activated are reverted to the free version. Small Office Protection subscriptions are not affected at this time.

 

SecureLine VPN is a standalone app, separate from Avast Security & Privacy, that helps protect your phone's internet traffic. This app is a virtual private network that secures your internet connection using an encrypted tunnel to disguise your real location, and prevent others from eavesdropping on your online activity over public Wi-Fi and unsecured networks.

Installing VPN

1. Download Avast SecureLine VPN from App Store
2. If necessary, click Accept to allow the download to begin
3. Once the application is installed on your device, you can click the icon to open it.

Activating VPN

Your purchase of Small Office Protection should come with a subscription code you can use to activate SecureLine VPN for your mobile devices, which should also be tied to your Avast account. The number of devices you can activate depends on the subscription you purchased.

With Activation Code

1. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on your device to open the app
2. Tap Start Trial / Renew Now
3. Tap Already Purchased?
4. Tap Enter Avast subscription code
5. Type or paste your activation code into the text box, including hyphens
6. Tap Continue to complete activation

With Avast Account

1. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on your device to open the app
2. Tap Start Trial / Renew Now
3. Tap Already Purchased?
4. Tap Restore with Avast Account
5. Select E-mail address
6. Enter your Avast Account credentials
7. Tap Done to complete activation

Configuring VPN Settings

To access the settings, open the SecureLine app and then tap the cog wheel icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Account

Tapping Subscription opens a screen displaying your current type of subscription, the Activation Code, and the active Avast account tied to your subscription. You can tap See available plans to show subscriptions available for purchase, or Unlink to remove the current subscription from your device.

Connection Rules

Connection Rules opens a screen with auto-connection settings:

• Auto-connect VPN connects the VPN automatically when you are using cellular or Wi-Fi.
• Exclude cellular disables auto-connect when the device is connected to a cellular network.
• Exclude trusted networks disables auto-connect when the device is connected to a Trusted network
• Trusted networks allows you to add a Wi-Fi network to the Trusted list

Troubleshooting

Reinstall VPN Profile allows installation or reinstallation of a VPN profile that is necessary for VPN to work on iOS devices.
