Wi-Fi Security for iOS

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Mobile Protection has been removed from all Small Business Solutions subscriptions (Essential/Premium/Ultimate Business Security) due to low adoption. The mobile devices with the subscriptions activated are reverted to the free version. Small Office Protection subscriptions are not affected at this time.

 

Wi-Fi security will check the Wi-Fi network to which the device is connected and may identify the following security issues:

  • Infected router / DNS Hijack
  • Insecure Wi-Fi network / weak or no encryption
  • Weak password into router's administration
  • Router's administration accessible from the internet
  • Vulnerability in the router (old firmware etc.)
  • Devices not protected (related to IP 6)

If a VPN is connected (any VPN), Wi-Fi Security may not work (but using a VPN means that your device is safe - if there is no problem in the VPN itself)

  1. Tap the Avast Security & Privacy icon on your device to open the app
  2. Tap Protection > Wi-Fi Security
  3. Tap Rescan at the bottom of the results screen
  4. Review the results and proposed actions
