Updating Antivirus Program and Virus Definitions

 

Both the Antivirus threat detection software and the threat database that the Antivirus uses are frequently updated. New threats are discovered every day and it is important to keep your device(s) up to date to maximize the protection of devices and networks.

When this task runs, the software updates on each device the next time that device is turned on and connected to the internet. The task history shows you when the task has completed successfully for each device, and you can view more details in the Task Report.

1. Go to the Devices page to update specific devices only or the Tasks page to update all devices in your network (see Managing Tasks for more information if needed)
2. Click Update device
3. Select one of the following based on whether you want to update the program or the virus definitions:
   • Program update
   • Virus definitions update
4. If you would like the task to be recurring, select Schedule the update and set the Frequency (one-time, daily, weekly, or monthly) and Schedule start date and time
5. Type a Custom name for the Update
6. Click Update
