VPN Protection (Android)

This Article Applies to:

  • Small Office Protection

SecureLine VPN is a standalone app, separate from Avast Mobile Security, that helps protect your phone's internet traffic. This app is a virtual private network that secures your internet connection using an encrypted tunnel to disguise your real location, and prevent others from eavesdropping on your online activity over public Wi-Fi and unsecured networks.

Installing SecureLine VPN

  1. Open the Play Store app
  2. Search for "Avast SecureLine" or "Avast VPN"
  3. Select VPN SecureLine by Avast - Security & Privacy Proxy from the list
  4. Click Install
  5. If necessary, click Accept to allow the download to begin

Once the application is installed on your device, you can click the icon to open it.

  2. Tap the three dots in the top right, then tap Use voucher
  3. Type or paste your activation code into the text box, including hyphens

  2. Tap the three dots in the top right, then tap Restore with Avast Account
  3. Select E-mail address
  4. Enter your Avast Account credentials

Connection Rules

Auto-connect to VPN opens a screen with auto-connection settings:

  • You shouldn't auto-connect me: auto-connect is disabled
  • You connect to public Wi-Fi: auto-connect is enabled when you are connected to public Wi-Fi, unless it is a Trusted network
  • You connect to any Wi-Fi: auto-connect is enabled when you are connected to any Wi-Fi, unless it is a Trusted network
  • You connect to Wi-Fi or cellular data: auto-connect is enabled when you are connected to any network, unless it is a Trusted network

Trusted networks allows you to add the Wi-Fi currently connected to the list of Trusted networks.

Kill Switch will stop all internet traffic from your device in the event the VPN server drops or disconnects, which will help protect against data leaks
